For Inspiration & Recognition of Science and Technology

FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology. A non-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

Ten80 develops and publishes K-12 STEM curriculum, trains educators in the art of STEM and organizes events that motivate students to engage and learn over time. Ten80 is a team of education and STEM professionals who saw the need for a more integrated, interactive way of teaching science and mathematics back in the 1990’s. Today we embrace the term STEM as an opportunity to provide that new experience for students through problem and project-based learning … that doesn’t forget the learning.

The true impact of VEX is that we’re not only thriving as part of extra-curricular programs, but we’re also embraced as a leading part of the daytime classroom experience. The tools VEX provides for competition are designed with flexibility in mind. We see competitions popping up in all sorts of ways: informal club events, as part of the curricular classroom experience, or as part of summer programs.

Our mission is to engage, excite and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction through mentoring and to support their continued advancement in the industry.
By working with real professionals in real work environments, ACE students receive an invaluable hands-on education — they learn to understand the day-to-day workings of a business by living it, experiencing it, not merely reading about it.
