Welcome to our Ten80 Club
RamTech Ten80 Club activities throughout the year.
Ten80 develops and publishes K-12 STEM curriculum, trains educators in the art of STEM and organizes events that motivate students to engage and learn over time. Ten80 is a team of education and STEM professionals who saw the need for a more integrated, interactive way of teaching science and mathematics back in the 1990’s. Today we embrace the term STEM as an opportunity to provide that new experience for students through problem and project-based learning … that doesn’t forget the learning.
STEM is not just for future engineers and technicians, it is an opportunity to help each individual cultivate the confidence that comes from knowing how to effectively answer the hard questions, skillfully tackle challenges and innovate toward a sustainable and prosperous future. Ten80’s courses, camps, clubs and competitions inspire students to engage in STEM learning because it becomes relevant to their lives. The standards-based curriculum and support networks channel that inspiration into real academic and personal success in their chosen fields.

Ten80’s engineers and educators believe that our society should cultivate STEM literacy and skills with the same rigor, passion and investment that we do for sports. Ten80 is therefore expanding access and participation, especially among non-traditional STEM audiences, to mentors and programs that help each individual cultivate the confidence that comes from knowing how to effectively answer the hard questions, skillfully tackle challenges and innovate toward a sustainable and prosperous future for themselves and for our society. RamTech Ten80 Team Mission
At RamTech 59, we’re known for our desire for victory and our attention to detail. After many years of experience in other engineering based competitions, we decided to venture into the Ten80 Student Racing Challenge for the 2016-2017 season. Even in our rookie year, we set the league on fire, winning the 2017 Miami Spring Invitational in Racing Events and qualifying for the National STEM League Finals at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Of course, we strive to win even more as time goes on. The desire to reach victory lane in all categories is what fuels the members of the RamTech 59 Ten80 team, knowing that they are learning all about STEM through these realistic RC cars while having fun and unleashing their competitive spirit.
Ten80 NATIONAL STEM LEAGUE
Practice League for Future Professionals
The Ten80 National STEM League (NSL) is a practice league for future professionals that has recently been named one of four Exemplary and Scalable STEM† programs by Change the Equation‡. Students in middle and high school are invited to own their own team or business that specializes in and competes in one of the following challenges. A single school or organization can participate in one or all of them.
A National STEM League competition takes only hours but preparing for it takes weeks, months and years of data collection, analysis, creative engineering, management and marketing. All of these activities are critical for your success, as they are for professionals.
Points Race: Between September and May, teams earn points in a variety of ways that represent the broad range of industry skills from applied math and creative engineering to preventative maintenance, marketing, graphic design and management. Details are in the Introduction & Points System sections.
Invitationals & National Finals: At Open Invitationals and at the Annual National Finals, teams compete in the Ten80 Student Racing, Rover, Energy or Innovation Challenge by competing head to head, giving team marketing presentations, showcasing data-driven design projects, and sharing community outreach initiatives.
