RamTech takes on Magnet Schools of America

May 5th - 6th, 2016

During the week of May 2nd, RamTech took on a S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) demonstration at the Magnet Schools of America Conference held at the Intercontinental Hotel by Bayside. While RamTech attended the event, we promoted the message of FIRST to teachers and passersby while also exhibiting our robot. We were joined by MAST Academy and TERRA who also exhibited their FRC Robots. While we there, we were able to entertain the guests by having our robot shake hands or shoot the boulders at them. We were very grateful that Magnet Schools of America invited us to intend, and we look forward to attending in the future.

RamTech and Goldenhorns

Team 5665 The Goldenhorns visit Team 59

April 6th, 2016

On April 6, four days after the FIRST Robotics South Florida Regional, RamTech opened its doors to Team 5665, Goldenhorns. RamTech was able to give a complete tour of our school, from our facility where we build our robot, to our woodshop, where our architecture and construction students study. We also showed them other parts of the school which collaborate with our engineering program such as our fine arts and our athletics department. We ended the tour in our engineering lab, where we paired a few of their members with our drive team so they could see how our robot operated using our half field. We showed them our shooting and climbing mechanism and let them try it out for themselves. After a day of team bonding and playing with robots, they departed with nothing but smiles on their faces. The students of RamTech were very proud of the fact that they were given the opportunity to showcase our school and engineering program to an international FIRST Robotics team.

Superintendent Carvalho visits the Fair

April 9th, 2016

RamTech 59 showcased their FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) Robot at the Miami-Dade County Fair on Saturday, April 9th, 2016. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools was present at the event and interacted with Coral Park students and their FRC robot. Superintendent Carvalho was amazed at the modern marvels of technology and engineering the young members of RamTech were able to create in just a six-week time span, as well as the ability to deliver the message of FIRST throughout the children and adults at the Fair.
